PonyPros evaluated Dazzle June 2010 on our field trip to Evans Welsh. 11 year old Zoe was the first student to claim a pony, asking for Dazzle the moment she saw the big grey mare. Over their 3 days together, Zoe taught Dazzle how to longe, to yield the FQ/HQ/back up on the ground, to send across water and small jumps, to carry a tarp and a bareback pad with stirrups, and to eagerly push a ball with her forlegs. Our last day, Zoe put the first ride on Dazzle, riding her bareback in a haler. Zoe was really pleased with how Dazzle naturally neck reined with great haunch turns. Zoe is really hoping Dazzle will come to PonyPros for training so she can spend more time working with her :)

Zoe's family does Western 4H, reining, and casual endurance trail riding, and Zoe thinks Dazzle will be perfect for those activities. Dazzle is certainly fancy enough for hunters, but she's also just a nice "all around, go any direction" pony. Dazzle seems to really like getting out. She would likely flourish with the consistency of a hunter program, but it's always our inclination to recommend a pony for natural horsemanship activities before performance activities. We'd love to see Dazzle get to do a little bit of everything as she has the build and temperament to do it all. She even has some cow. She's also large enough that she won't be out grown. She'll be suitable for a rider up to 14 and beyond.
