Pony Pros Horseback Riding Lessons

If this is a familiar scene at your house, it's time to get started in horseback riding lessons! (real photo sent from the mom of one of our students!)

Dog Wearing Saddle

If this is your first time horseback riding, prepare to fall in love! First time riders will spend a few minutes getting to know their pony on the ground before getting on. Then riders will learn the basics of steering, stopping, and going under saddle, and take their skills to the next level on a lungeline! With our great lesson ponies, warm indoor arena for the winter, and spacious outdoor arena for the summer, you're sure to have fun.

We charge only $20-$28/lesson and that includes 1 hour of instruction, generally at a 1:1 or 2:1 teacher/student ratio, plus 2 hours of self-directed time with the ponies per week. The self-directed time is both good for the rescue ponies and allows the kids the privilege of nearly owning a pony for about $100/mo total.

Please note - we encourage students to come for a month to try the PonyPros program and see how it differs from other lesson programs. After the one month trial period, students are asked to commit to a minimum of 1 lesson and 1 self-directed practice session per week. Studies show that it takes 1000 hours around horses to be a competent rider and handler, and that students do not improve at a rate that benefits their safety with only a weekly lesson. For that reason, we ask that our students spend at least 3 hours a week with their pony.

Students are asked to purchase a riding helmet with dial-fit after the 1 month trial. A helmet is about $40.
