All About Rosie

Rosie Rosie had about 2 weeks of riding as a 2 year old, a summer of riding as a 3 year old, and a summer or riding as a 4 year old. She turns 5 in May, so is still green yet, but is consistent and predictable. Rosie came to PonyPros late December '09 to start her career and find a home.

Rosie is going wtc and is started on cantering small courses with a trainer. She is also trotting crossrails with confident, but inexperienced 12 year old riders. Rosie takes her leads beautifully and is just starting her flying changes. So far, she seems like a natural.

Rosie Rosie has lots of trail miles. She starts out a little prancy but quiets down quickly. She is the same pony on the trail that she is at home.

At present, we would describe Rosie as a med/high spirit left brain extrovert. However, PonyPros did her training from age 1-2 and during that time, she went from being a high spirit RBE to being a medium spirit LBE/LBI. Rosie is green under saddle yet, so we anticipate that with more miles, she'll become steady and nonchalant, like she did with her ground work. Presently she is best suited for a confident child or adult.

Rosie Rosie is playing well at Parelli L3 including jumping a single barrel from a standstill, sideways over a set of barrels towards you or away, traveling circles with obstacles, changes of direction on the lunge at a trot or at a canter with simple changes, and backing up by the tail. She has a GREAT Stick With Me Game at liberty and will trot with you over jumps and obstacles at liberty. She loves the cloverleaf pattern. Rosie also has a high level circling game and will play indefinitely.

Rosie is also receiving training in French Classical Dressage. She shows beautiful talent for the levade and piaffe. She is great at half-pass and shoulder-in and the balancera. She could be a high-level dressage horse for a female adult rider. She easily carries someone 5'7 and never tires.

Rosie Rosie enjoys jumping and would be well suited to a hunter/jumper program. Her full brother is competing on the East Coast h/j circuit and doing well at the A's, including Devon. Rosie would also be a competitive endurance mount as she can show all day and never run out of go.

Rosie has been to two shows and was the same pony at the show that she is at home. She did well traveling in a group in her flat classes and was quiet in trot-a-course. Rose was ridden by confident, but green 12 year olds, and did not require an adult warm-up. She did great with both the challenge trail course, which included huge ditches and banks, and the trail obstacle course, which included platforms, a car wash, and a Rosie 30' L to back through.

Rosie is very forward moving but is very consistent. She responds well to voice cues, including a verbal "whoa." Rosie takes both leads without hesitation and will be an excellent show pony, whether for gymkhana, pony club, h/j, or endurance.
