Evans Sion
We evaluated Sion during our field trip to Evans Welsh Ponies June 2010. 11 year old Elizabeth worked with Sion for 3 days, teaching him basic ground skills and putting his first few rides on him. For his groundwork, Sion learned about haunch turns, forehand turns, and back up, and carried a tarp, did desensitization with a ball, carried a saddle, crossed streams and went up and down little hills, and did a little work with cavaletti. For riding, Sion and Liz just cruised around bareback in a halter getting a feel for things. It was a great experience for pony and student.
Sion is calm and friendly with a great sense of humor. He's stoutly built and will be great for a rider up to the age of 13.
Sion is Wallie's half brother by the same sire and has many of the same great qualities. Just like Wallie, Sion easily leaned to pick up toys, like a hula hoop, and offered to lay down two times for petting and treats. What a fun, brave boy! Sion is a real cheese and will be an entertaining friend.
Sion is currently at his breeders but can be sold with training with PonyPros.

For reference, check out these photos and videos of Sion's Half Brother, Wallie.
Wallie lays down and sits up on cue, plays Tail Tag, pushes a ball, and flops on a bean bag. Wallie is not for sale as he already has a little girl of his own, but Sion is likely to make an equally fun pony.
