Witch Wood Twister (Twister)

Twister is a very fun, quiet pony. She's a joy to be around and eye-catchingly beautiful. Twister has great, toe-flicking movement. She's big bodied and easily carries an adult rider. Her full brother is owned and shown by a woman who is 5'5. Twister could also be a competitive adult dressage mount. Still, Twister is sweet and gentle enough for a child to ride.

Twister is trotting small cross rails and doing great. She's steady and rhythmic. She also rides great bareback. She's athletic but a touch on the lazy side, so is a really nice ride.

Twister does great with new situations. When she came to PonyPros for her video and evaluation, she got right off the trailer on a rainy day and her owner tacked her up without tying her. She trotted off nicely in sloppy footing. She had never been in a trailer and never been away from home, and it was a busy Saturday at the barn with several haul-ins and day-before-show buzz. We even brought her in and rode her in the indoor, and she was perfect, despite having never been indoors before. She walked straight over the tarp and rode great in both a bit and halter, English, Western, and bareback. She was so good we put an inexperienced 12 year old on her and they cruised around the arena bareback. Check out the video below.

Twister's second day at PonyPros, we had a big show. Twister competed in an in-hand obstacle course and would have done great in the ridden classes but we didn't have a rider for her. She was very quiet for it being her first show, and only her second day away from home ever.

Twister was only at PonyPros for a week to get photos and video taken because she lives just down the road. We did find time to shoot video of Twister being ridden at a trot by 10-year-old Maddie. She was great, and of course Maddie wanted to keep her, but she already has a pony :) We suspect it was just the new situation, but Twister was a touch heavy on the aids. She seems very willing, though, and will likely become more supple with regularly exercise. Her brothers are very light on the aids.

If you're looking for a show pony that you can keep at home and still have do great when you take her out on the town, Twister is your girl. She would also do well in a regular show barn. Twister likes to be pampered and has excellent taste.
