Price may increase with trainingZiggy is a 7 year old mare. She is a good size for riders up to 13. Ziggy is out of one of our favorite children's pony sires. She has had one foal, which we find helps a mare become more motherly towards children. Ziggy is a fancy dun bay with a dun stripe, three socks, and a blaze. She has a naturally low, beautiful topline, with free-swinging movement, and will be great for hunters.
Ziggy arrived at PonyPros March 21st. She has since been started under saddle and is very responsive and gentle. This spring/summer has been very busy for us with clinicing out of town, but when we are here, Ziggy is being ridden 3-6 days per week by our trainers and youth PonyPros. Ziggy is lightly started and riding walk/trot. She has a very smooth jog. Ziggy has mastered the trail course both leading and sending, and is riding both indoors and out. She is obedient by nature, plays the Parelli games, and is also learning fun tricks like smiling, pushing a ball, and standing on pedestals.
Ziggy is primarily a medium spirit RBI/RBE, tending to be sensitive and forward moving, but also gentle with a soft heart. With experience, we think she'll be a very steady and quiet pony. Ziggy loves to be stroked and talked to, and when she's feeling more confident, she also loves to push the ball playfully and nip at it. Ziggy is in the middle of the herd and not one to cause any problems. She is affectionate, obedient, and tries very hard.
July 4th, PonyPros took Ziggy in the Bend Pet Parade. It was a very exciting event with spectators 12+ feet deep down every street. Ziggy did awesome hauling with 4 other ponies, unloading on asphalt, and getting all dressed up in the midst of chaos. For a very green pony, she did well waiting for our turn in the parade and walking with the other ponies, being led by Les. Zigz had trouble standing still when the parade got backed up (which it did often), but was generally a good listener and was able to spend some time leading on a loose rein. She knew exactly when we got to the end and let out a big sigh!
Ziggy would be a great pony for someone keeping their horses at home as she doesn't not tend to get pushy. She is respectful and obedient by nature, and likes consistency. Ziggy would also do well boarding at a barn doing rail classes, like Western Pleasure, hunters, or dressage. Ziggy is also likely to be a good trail pony. We'll be taking her out some this summer to see what she thinks of the BLM :)
*Because we will be studying out of town for the month of September, we will offer a special price on Ziggy to an experienced home. She is only very lightly started at this point so will need professional miles before being ready for a child.
